COVID MAY 2020

It has been a month since my last post. COVID-19 has not gone away but things are starting to get going again in the economy.

The number of cases have increased but I think peoples fears are subsiding. It will take awhile for things to be normal again. To add to our problems, a policeman in Minnesota arrested a black man, George Floyd) and, while subduing him, strangled him to death. The policeman was obviously wrong and was arrested himself but riots have ensued across the country. Now we are under COVID restrictions and riot curfews. These are challenging times.

Haley has been struggling to get her Unemployment benefits from being let go. Somehow the government though she was an illegal alien. After many fruitless calls and letters, she finally was able to go into the office and get the record corrected but it will be another month before she receives payment. The unemployment offices are overwhelmed.

Luckily I have been able to continue working from home. On memorial day weekend, I tried to figure out a vacation activity that would take us out away from people. I found out there was a company renting 4 seater SXS offroad sport vehicles in San Manuel. It turned out to be fun and Felicia and Haley agreed to go. The beast had a loud engine but great suspension so we could go fast in rough terrain.
